PUBLICATION PROCESS
Publication Process
Journal of Multidisciplinary and Intellectual Research (JMIR) implements a structured and transparent publication process to ensure the quality, integrity, and timeliness of all published articles. The process is managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and involves the following stages:
1. Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the OJS online submission system, following the Author Guidelines. All submitted manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
The editorial team performs an initial check to verify:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Compliance with formatting and submission requirements
- Plagiarism screening using similarity-check software
Submissions that fail to meet the basic requirements will be desk-rejected.
3. Peer Review Process
Eligible manuscripts are sent to two independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review system. The reviewers evaluate the manuscript's originality, methodological soundness, academic contribution, and clarity of writing.
Reviewers will recommend one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Accept with Minor Revisions
- Major Revisions Required
- Reject
4. Editorial Decision
The editor considers the reviewers’ recommendations and makes the final decision. Authors will receive the decision letter along with reviewer comments and instructions for revision if needed.
5. Revision and Resubmission
Authors are expected to revise the manuscript in line with reviewer feedback. A response letter should accompany the revised manuscript, detailing the changes made. Revised manuscripts may be sent for a second round of review (if required).
6. Acceptance and Copyediting
Once accepted, the manuscript enters the copyediting stage, where it is checked for grammar, clarity, formatting consistency, and referencing style.
7. Layout and Proofreading
The article is typeset into the journal layout and a proof is sent to the author for final review before publication. Authors must approve the final version prior to release.
8. Online Publication
The final version of the article is published on the JMIR website under the assigned issue. All articles are published as open access and are freely available to readers worldwide.
9. Indexing and Archiving
Published articles are submitted to national and international indexing databases, institutional repositories, and digital archiving services to ensure long-term accessibility and visibility.
Estimated timeline: The entire publication process typically takes 8–12 weeks from submission to publication, depending on the revision cycle.
