PUBLICATION ETHICS
Publication Ethics
Journal of Multidisciplinary and Intellectual Research (JMIR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. This includes responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
- Authors must submit original, unpublished work and must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- All sources must be properly cited. Plagiarism, in all its forms, is unethical and unacceptable.
- Authors must ensure the accuracy of data and provide access to raw data upon request for editorial review.
- All authors must have significantly contributed to the research and be listed as co-authors.
- Any conflict of interest must be disclosed at the time of submission.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
- Editors are responsible for making fair and unbiased decisions, regardless of authors' gender, religion, ethnicity, or institutional affiliation.
- Editors must ensure a confidential and transparent peer review process.
- Editors shall not use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts without the authors’ written consent.
- Editors should act if ethical complaints or conflicts arise, including responding to allegations of misconduct.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Reviewers should not review manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
- Reviewers must alert the editor to any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript and other published work.
4. Plagiarism and Misconduct
JMIR uses plagiarism detection tools to screen all submitted manuscripts. Any form of plagiarism, data falsification, or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited. Submissions found to violate ethical standards will be rejected or retracted.
5. Retraction and Corrections
JMIR will retract articles that are proven to contain unethical practices, fabricated data, plagiarism, or serious errors. Minor corrections may be published as errata or corrigenda in a subsequent issue.
6. Conflict of Interest
All parties involved in the publication process (authors, reviewers, editors) must disclose any financial or personal conflicts that could inappropriately influence their duties or the manuscript evaluation.
7. Ethical Oversight
JMIR adheres to the ethical standards set by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). Any ethical concerns may be directed to the editorial board for formal review.
JMIR ensures the integrity, transparency, and ethical standards in every stage of academic publishing.
