ARCHIVE POLICY

Archive Policy

The Journal of Multidisciplinary and Intellectual Research (JMIR) is committed to the long-term preservation of and access to published scholarly content.

1. Digital Archiving

JMIR ensures that all published content is digitally archived and preserved to maintain accessibility over time. The journal employs multiple archiving strategies, including:

  • Storing copies of published articles on secure journal servers
  • Participating in archiving programs such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and PKP PN (Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network)
  • Regular database backups and redundancy systems

2. Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other open access platforms. JMIR follows the green open access model, allowing:

  • Pre-print (before peer review): may be archived
  • Post-print (after peer review, accepted version): may be archived
  • Publisher’s version/PDF: may be archived immediately upon publication

All archived versions must include a citation to the original publication in JMIR and a link to the journal’s website.

3. Indexing and Database Submission

To ensure discoverability and preservation, JMIR submits its content to various national and international indexing databases and repositories.

4. Availability

All archived content remains available on the JMIR website and accessible to readers free of charge in accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy.
