Sistem Informasi Persediaan dan Penjualan Barang Sembako Berbasis Web dan Mobile Menggunakan Metode Prototype

Abstract

Micro and small retail businesses such as neighborhood grocery stores commonly still manage their stock and sales records by hand, a practice that invites recording errors, delayed stock updates, and slow reporting. This study designs a web- and mobile-based inventory and sales information system for a grocery store, D'Warung, aiming to make data management more accurate, speed up transactions, and provide real-time stock visibility. The system was built following the Prototype development method, moving through requirement gathering, prototype construction, user evaluation, refinement, and final testing, while data were collected through interviews, direct observation, and a literature study. Development relied on the PHP programming language together with a MySQL database, producing an application reachable from both browsers and mobile devices and serving four user roles: administrator, cashier, customer, and supplier. Black-box testing across eleven core modules, covering product and category management, purchasing, sales transactions, returns, and reporting, confirmed that every function performed as intended. The resulting system lets the store owner track stock levels instantly, reduces manual recording errors, and streamlines day-to-day operations, indicating that the Prototype approach is a practical route toward information systems that genuinely match user needs.
