The Journal of Information Technology and Informatics Engineering (JITIE) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original and previously unpublished research in the fields of information technology, informatics engineering, computer science, and related interdisciplinary studies.
This Scientific Publication Ethics Statement outlines the ethical standards applicable to all stakeholders involved in the journal’s publication process, including the editor-in-chief, editors, reviewers, authors, and website administrators. This statement refers to the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 on the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications, which emphasizes the following three principles:
- Neutrality: Ensuring the absence of conflicts of interest in the management of publications.
- Justice: Ensuring that authorship is granted only to those who are entitled to it.
- Honesty: Ensuring integrity by avoiding duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P).
Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief
- Define the journal’s identity, focus, scope, and accreditation objectives.
- Appoint editors and manage editorial board membership.
- Establish collaboration among publishers, editors, reviewers, and authors.
- Ensure confidentiality throughout the editorial and review process.
- Uphold copyright and intellectual property rights.
- Formulate, implement, and disseminate editorial and publication policies.
- Develop and enforce ethical guidelines for editors and reviewers.
- Maintain a timely and consistent publication schedule.
- Ensure the sustainability of journal operations and resources.
- Promote journal visibility, reputation, and international collaboration.
- Continuously improve journal quality and credibility.
- Ensure compliance with legal and institutional regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Subscription Manager
- Manage and update subscription records for institutions and individuals.
- Process subscription payments and renewals in accordance with journal policies.
- Monitor subscription status and notify subscribers regarding expiration or issues.
- Coordinate access control for subscription-based content in the OJS platform.
- Prepare invoices, receipts, and subscription reports.
- Coordinate with the journal manager and publisher regarding subscription management.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Provide objective and constructive feedback to improve manuscript quality.
- Edit manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s language and formatting standards.
- Contribute actively to improving the scientific quality of publications.
- Encourage academic freedom and objective scholarly discourse.
- Publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions when required.
- Consult with the editor-in-chief on manuscripts involving ethical or technical concerns.
- Identify and handle potential ethical issues in submissions.
- Educate authors on responsible research and publication practices.
- Maintain impartiality and avoid conflicts of interest.
- Assist authors in revising manuscripts to meet journal standards.
- Ensure manuscripts comply with the journal’s layout and style.
- Collaborate with the editor-in-chief in editorial decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Editorial Assistant
- Assist the editorial team in managing submissions and peer-review workflows via OJS.
- Communicate with authors, reviewers, and editors to ensure timely processing.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of manuscript metadata.
- Manage manuscript versions and support editorial tracking.
- Coordinate deadlines and assist in copyediting and production preparation.
- Perform general administrative and documentation tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Conduct objective, fair, and timely peer reviews.
- Evaluate originality, scientific merit, clarity, and relevance.
- Provide constructive feedback without personal criticism.
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and review content.

- Develop, configure, and maintain the journal website.
- Manage system settings and user roles in OJS.
- Register and manage accounts for editors, reviewers, and authors.
- Maintain website functionality, security, and accessibility.
- Monitor usage statistics and access logs.
- Upload, publish, and archive accepted manuscripts.
