Perancangan dan Implementasi Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan Berbasis Web Menggunakan Metode Agile Di SMK Budi Mulia Ciledug

Abstract

Library administration at SMK Budi Mulia Ciledug was previously carried out manually, a condition that frequently caused recording errors, data redundancy, and slow book circulation because collection availability could not be checked in real time. This research designs and implements a web-based Library Information System aimed at improving the efficiency of collection management and the effectiveness of borrowing and return transactions. System development follows the Agile methodology, covering the stages of planning, design, development, testing, and deployment, so that the resulting application can adapt quickly to feedback from the head librarian, library staff, and students. The system was built with the PHP programming language and the Laravel framework, supported by MySQL as the database management system, and is equipped with a barcode-scanning feature for faster transactions as well as automatic WhatsApp notifications for due-date reminders. Functional testing was carried out using the Black Box Testing method across the login, master-data, transaction, fine-management, and student-application modules. The results show that every tested feature performed according to specification, indicating that the system successfully digitizes library operations, reduces administrative errors, and allows students to search for, borrow, and return books more quickly and transparently.
