Perancangan Sistem Perpustakaan Berbasis Desktop Di SMPN 23 Kota Tangerang Selatan Dengan Metode Agile

Rapid advancements in information technology require every institution, including schools, to manage information effectively and efficiently. The library is a vital component of the school environment, serving as an information resource and a support system for student learning activities. However, library management at SMPN 23 South Tangerang City is currently conducted manually covering book data recording as well as borrowing and return transactions leading to various issues such as recording errors, difficulties in data retrieval, and inefficiencies in report generation. Therefore, a library information system is needed to help address these problems. The objective of this practical work project is to design and develop a desktopbased library information system that facilitates data management and enhances the operational efficiency of library staff. Data collection methods employed include observation, interviews, and literature review. The project resulted in a library information system capable of managing book data and handling borrowing and return transactions in a computerized manner. With the implementation of this system, library management processes are expected to become more effective, accurate, and efficient.
