Abstract

Electricity payment arrears among postpaid customers remain a challenge because the process of disconnecting and reconnecting electricity is still performed manually, requiring considerable time, labor, and operational costs. In addition, customer electricity monitoring has not been fully integrated with the control process in real time. This research aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Cut Off Current (CC) system for real-time and remote monitoring and control of customer electricity. The system integrates an Android-based application with IoT devices to manage customer data, monitor electricity conditions, store monitoring history, and control electricity reconnection. The IoT device consists of an ESP32 microcontroller, a PZEM-004T sensor for measuring voltage, current, power, and electrical energy, and a relay for controlling electricity flow. Rapid Application Development (RAD) was used to develop the application, while the prototype method was applied to the IoT device. Firebase Realtime Database was used for real-time data storage and communication. Testing results indicate that the developed features functioned according to the expected scenarios and supported integrated electricity monitoring and control.
