The Journal of Multidisciplinary and Intellectual Research (J-MIR) implements a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific integrity, and academic contribution of every manuscript submitted for publication. In this review model, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Peer Review Procedure

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts electronically through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics, and Focus & Scope.

2. Initial Editorial Assessment

The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary evaluation to determine whether the manuscript:

  • Falls within the scope of J-MIR.
  • Complies with the journal formatting requirements.
  • Contains complete metadata and required submission documents.
  • Meets language and academic writing standards.
  • Passes plagiarism screening using Turnitin and/or iThenticate.

Manuscripts failing to satisfy these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review (Desk Rejection).

3. Assignment to Handling Editor

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to a Handling Editor with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area. The Handling Editor oversees the peer-review process from reviewer selection to the final recommendation.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise in the relevant discipline. The identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.

5. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty.
  • Scientific significance and contribution.
  • Research methodology.
  • Validity and reliability of data.
  • Quality of analysis and discussion.
  • Relevance of references.
  • Organization and clarity of presentation.
  • Language quality.
  • Compliance with publication ethics.

6. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept.
  • Minor Revision.
  • Major Revision.
  • Reject.

7. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers' comments and recommendations, the Editor may decide to:

  • Accept the manuscript.
  • Request minor revisions.
  • Request major revisions.
  • Reject the manuscript.

The Editor-in-Chief retains full authority over the final publication decision.

8. Author Revision

  • Minor Revision: Maximum 14 calendar days.
  • Major Revision: Maximum 30 calendar days.

Authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed Response to Reviewers explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed.

9. Second Review (If Required)

Major revisions may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation. Minor revisions may be assessed directly by the Handling Editor.

10. Final Acceptance

After all reviewer recommendations have been satisfactorily addressed, the Editor-in-Chief issues the final acceptance decision.

11. Production Process

Accepted manuscripts proceed through:

  • Professional copyediting.
  • Layout and typesetting.
  • Proofreading.
  • Author proof approval.
  • DOI registration.
  • Online First publication (if applicable).
  • Issue publication.

12. Publication Ethics

All participants involved in the editorial process must comply with the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any indication of plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified results, or unethical research practices will be handled according to the journal's Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policy.

13. Appeals and Complaints

Authors may submit appeals regarding editorial decisions by providing a written explanation and supporting evidence to the Editorial Office. All appeals are evaluated independently by the Editor-in-Chief, whose decision shall be final.
